Zoning Approved for 25-Storey Mixed-Use Tower in Kingston’s North Block

Category

Kingston City Council has approved zoning changes for a 25-storey mixed-use development at Barrack and Wellington Streets, paving the way for one of the tallest towers in the city’s core. The project will deliver over 340 residential units alongside a ground-floor commercial podium, bringing new retail opportunities and activating a key North Block intersection.

For the commercial real estate market, the approval reinforces North Block’s status as a high-density growth area. The combination of large-scale residential supply with new street-level commercial space is expected to enhance the area’s walkability, attract complementary businesses, and increase long-term investment appeal in Kingston’s downtown.
